Curb mounted skylights are versitile skylights designed for sloped and flat roofing systems like asphalt shingles and rolled roofing. Curb mount skylights come in a variety of styles, fixed, manually venting and electric venting. A curb must be fabicated and installed to the roof for the skylights to me mounted over or already be pre existing. These curbs afre commonly fabricated out of 2"x6" or larger lumber. The water tight seal arund the curb or base of these skylights is conducted using custom fabricated metal flashings and flashing out of rolled roofing materials.  They can also come with or have blinds installed which can be manually operated or electric operated to restrict or block UV rays. Curb mount skylights are a versitile way allow natural light and fresh air to enter the home for solar heat gain and additional ventilation.
